Blog 4: Working EQ

The Pentagon:
(1) Positive Statement: Work experience from having an internship in the shop and possibly setting up a stable job at the shop for after the project doing something I enjoy. Working with all these amazing people who all shares the same love of bikes I have is so enriching. With the combined experience of all of them I really think I can achieve my goals of creating my own bike.

(2) EQ Content: I found a specific site on the internet that helps me understand all the best ways to diagnose any bicycle just by sound and when you are dealing with someone ,who isn't in your presence, it makes helping them a lot easier to explain to them.

(3) What has worked for me so far in the senior project? My mentor has taught me a lot about repairs and riding and just about bikes in general. In reality all the people I've come in contact with have really answered a lot of my questions and have taught me a lot.

(4) What hasn't worked so far? Finding clear research that directly pertains to my topic has been troubling. So far my best information has mainly come from my mentors and other experts I've come to meet. They seem to have the most useful insight in what really pertains directly to what i really want to know.

(5) Finding Value:

  •  What possible question or questions come to mind regarding what I would like to study this year? What aspects come into the fabrication of a new bike design? What is the usual process that goes into an entirely new bike.
  •  What is your end goal this year with my senior project? To be able to build my own bicycle from scratch. I want to learn to weld everything from the frame to the fork to the bars. Later I would love to learn have to build rims and cranks and all the more intricate parts that would go on a bike.
  • Who would I like to talk to I next? Why?  An engineer working for any major bike company such as Trek, Specialized, or Schwinn. I would love to talk to him about all the extensive mechanics it takes to make the most efficient bicycle possible. I think talking to someone who actually spends their time working and researching this topic for a living would have to the most insight out of anyone. I would also love to hear any tips they might have for
